Portioning Chicken

So remember my post on portion control?  One of the ways in which i do this (and simultaneously save money) is to portion my meats as soon as i get them from the grocery store.

I cut up the chicken (or beef, pork, whatever) into large pieces.

Measure them.  A kitchen scale is your best friend.

I do about 2 oz of chicken per serving (a normal serving is 4 oz, but i like to make it stretch).

And put them into little baggies.

And then when i wanna cook with one, i defrost one baggie and season it right in the bag!

See?  This way you know exactly how much you're eating.  You can customize how much you wanna put into each bag depending on your personal preferences.  I know this doesn't look like a lot of chicken for one meal, but if you cook it and shred it up with a fork, it ends up being a lot.  Fill the rest of your bowl/pot/plate with veggies instead :)
