About Me

Hello, and welcome to Sunny-side Up Recipes!  I'm so glad you stopped by, whether you've been a longtime reader of this blog or just happened to have stumbled upon it.

I learned to cook ever since I was really little, and spent a great deal of time in the kitchen making Korean food with my mom.  I moved from Korea to the U.S. I was in early grade school, but my mom predominantly cooked Korean food all while I was growing up.  You'll find a handful of Korean recipes in this blog, and you'll see that a lot of my other recipes are influenced by my heritage, e.g. my affinity for garlic and green onion and peppers and sauteing everything.

The central theme in this blog revolves around the idea that those of us who have extremely busy lives can still cook healthy meals, and do it without breaking the bank.  I strive to find simple recipes that will allow us to enjoy full flavors without tons of shame and guilt.  Sure, I have a few naughty recipes here and there, but only sparingly, like the top of the food pyramid :)

This blog started out being a place where I store my recipes back during college so that I could have my favorites wherever I go, whether I'm at home or away at school.  Years later when I was in grad school, it grew into something quite a bit bigger once I started incorporating pictures into the recipes, and then some more once I got a DSLR camera that could take beautiful food pictures.  And now I get hundreds of readers everyday from all over the world, and it's been fun to witness such a dynamic growth.

Thanks for reading, and have a glorious day!
